Water and Temperature

Water and temperature. One depends on the other. Depending on the temperature, the atmospheric air may contain a different amount of water. The water constantly condenses to the liquid phase and evaporates.

The more it is in the form of gas, the quicker it will take the liquid form. By increasing the temperature, we speed up this process, in other words, at a higher temperature, the air can keep more water.

This in turn has an impact on our compressed air system, and thus on the amount of condensate that is deposited inside and outside the compressor.

Water in compressed air

This is especially worth remembering in the summer. I. e., those who have to remember who dispose of the condensate manually:) The cheapest option is a manual drain, where you have to unscrew the valve under the tank or under the mains filter.

Although I expressed myself badly, because this is probably not the cheapest option. Simply read the human factor. I count on the fingers of one hand the plants where a person is designated to take care of the condensate discharge from the devices.

I won’t even have to stress my fingers:) In practice, nobody remembers this and everyone is making a big eye when I unscrew the tap under the 1000-litre pressure tank and discharge 200 litres of condensate (this is really not an isolated case, but they were better).

At this point, the user lost 20% of the air buffer, which made the compressor switch on more often, to which additional idle course and loss of energy costs are added. Low cost option right? I’m skipping killing the filter cartridges, etc., because this is another cost.

Simply install even the simplest electronic condensate drain. And there is a whole mass of it, from the simplest temporal drains to lossless drains opening after filling the tank inside. I will not dwell on the types because I would have to devote a whole separate topic to it.

I can only tell you from experience that sometimes the simpler it is, the less unreliable it is. Everyone will surely get back quickly and save us money and will provide an almost maintenance-free job. As every device requires service, in some of them you can clean the

As every device requires service, in some of them you can clean the filter in others the entire input is replaced, so the cost of operation is also significant.

Let us not overpay by choosing the cheapest solutions.
