Check valves allow compressed air to flow through it in one direction only. There are also known as clack valves, non-return valves, or one-way valves.
Transition between open and closed state should depend on the sign of the pressure difference on both sides of valves, however most often it takes place after exceeding the threshold differential pressure, commonly referred to as the opening pressure.
Some of the valves are closed only when the specified value of reverse flow is exceeded, or defined time has elapsed after the cessation of the flow.
